How to Apply

We identify the best possible candidates for medical school by assessing each applicant's overall achievements, including those in academic and non- academic areas. To apply for the University of Toronto MD Program, follow these steps:

1. Review the academic requirements

2. Review the non-academic requirements.

3. Apply online through the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS).

All applications to Ontario medical schools must be submitted online through OMSAS by October 2nd, 2023 (4:30pm ET).

Please review the OMSAS Application Guide for information on application deadlines and requirements.

4. Ensure ALL application materials are submitted by the OMSAS deadline.

You must arrange for all transcripts to be sent to OMSAS. Don't forget to list and provide academic transcripts for all studies completed at the university level. Disclosure and documentation are required for all courses, including those not leading to a completed credential and/or where credit was not granted.

Any additional materials required must be sent to OMSAS directly.

Don’t forget to release your Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores to OMSAS. MCAT scores must be released each year, regardless of when the test was. If you do not release your scores, your application will not be reviewed. Please ensure that you follow all the steps for releasing your scores.

For more on the University of Toronto’s admissions deadlines, consult the OMSAS Application Guide and visit the important application dates section of this website.

5. Read the OMSAS verification report to ensure that your application is complete.

We recommend that you review the online verification report provided to you by OMSAS to ensure that you have submitted all required application materials before the stated deadline. A missing transcript, reference letter or MCAT score will mean your file is on hold until the missing documentation is received. We will not review incomplete files. Failure to comply with the admission requirements and deadlines may preclude your application from admission consideration.

NOTE: The discovery of any information that is false or misleading or that any material information has been concealed or withheld will invalidate an application and will result in your immediate refusal or in the revocation and cancellation of an offer of admission and/or registration if you have been admitted.

If we learn you have firmly accepted a place at another Ontario medical school, we will automatically cancel your application.
